He is Director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and since 2007 he has held the Chair of Sculpture at the same Academy.
After completing his Academic studies in 1976, in the same year he started his exhibition activity for Sculpture. In 1978 he began teaching Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo, and from 1982 to 1988 he did didactic activities at Art High Schools and Art Institutes. In 1989 he was assigned the Chair of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara and from 2001 he moved to the Academy of Palermo.
He has participated in numerous exhibitions of national and international levels: Palermo, Milan, Venice, Zurich, Paris, Aarau, Porto Ferraio, Siena, Naples, Porto Vecchio, Carrara, Volterra, Messina, Reggio Emilia, Pietrasanta, Cento, Seoul, Montauban, Bologna, Rome, Padua, Forlì, Parma, Ravenna, Ferrara, Turin, Las Vegas, Copenhagen, Prague, Cologne, Nanjing. He also participated in various international sculpture symposia such as: Ichon (Korea), Lattakia (Syria), Damme (Germany), Montraker (Istria).
